It’s a question we hear every week:
“My parents’ fingerprints are almost gone after years of work. Can they still use your smart lock?”
The short answer is YES. The longer answer is: we planned for this from day one. Below is the simple, senior-friendly solution we ship with every lock.

  1. Record TWO “hidden” prints instead of one
Most people only scan the tip of the finger. Seniors (or anyone whose ridges are shallow) should register two extra positions on the SAME finger:

Position A – the side of the finger (left & right)
Position B – the base (the fleshy part closest to the knuckle)

These areas still have clear ridges even after 80 years of gardening, sewing or factory work. Our 508-dpi reader captures them in 0.5 s and treats each position as a separate “finger.” You get 99.7 % first-try acceptance without buying anything extra.

  1. We INCLUDE a free NFC medical-grade bracelet
If ridges are completely gone, just tap the bracelet to the lock.

  1. Five more ways in, just in case
Every lock we sell is also:

  1. Setup takes 3 minutes, no tools
  2. Install 4 AA batteries (included).
  3. Scan the “side” and base” of one finger twice.
  4. Tap the NFC bracelet once.
  5. Hand the bracelet to mom or dad—done.

  1. Real-world feedback
“My father-in-law is 81, diabetic, prints almost invisible. He taps the bracelet and he’s in. Took one day to trust it, now he shows the neighbors.”
    — J. Martinez, TX

Bottom line
Worn fingerprints are not a barrier; they’re just a data point we engineer around. With two strategic scans and the included NFC bracelet, seniors get faster access than a subway turnstile—no phone, no password, no stress.
